4 – Boun / The SPA House

Suite Lodge

Description:

House Boun is one of the tallest and most distinctive houses at Sala Lodges, originally built in 1983 in Opo village, in Preah Vihear province, approximately 200 kilometres from Siem Reap. Rising nearly nine metres high, it reflects the remarkable craftsmanship and architectural balance of traditional Khmer wooden homes.

Formerly owned by a farming family cultivating rubber trees and cassava, the house carries a strong connection to rural Cambodian life. House Boun was also the very first house acquired for Sala Lodges, transported piece by piece and carefully restored in 2011, marking the beginning of the lodge’s unique collection of heritage homes.

Today, House Boun offers a versatile and private space within the gardens of Sala Lodges. Preserving its original architecture and generous proportions, the house has been thoughtfully adapted to host wellness rituals and bespoke guest experiences in a tranquil, secluded setting.

Offered only upon request, House Boun invites guests to enjoy a more intimate and personalised Sala Lodges experience, blending heritage, privacy, and serenity.
