Hidden among Siem Reap’s rice fields, Sala Lodges was born from a desire to preserve and celebrate Cambodia’s architectural heritage.
Each of our eleven wooden houses has been rescued from rural villages, carefully dismantled, and meticulously restored by local artisans. Their decades-old structures, elevated on stilts and filled with the whispers of traditional craftsmanship, now welcome travellers seeking beauty, culture, and tranquillity.

A Home Shaped by Nature
Our estate unfolds like a lush Cambodian garden: tall palms, banana trees, bamboo, wild grasses, and soft tropical light.
Here, nature is not decoration — it is part of the experience. Guests wander shaded pathways, wake to birdsong, and rest on private terraces overlooking vibrant greenery.
The natural environment protects each house’s serenity, offering a deep sense of calm just minutes away from the wonders of Angkor.

Located in the vicinity of the Angkor temples in Siem Reap, each house has been carefully selected from the surrounding regions, disassembled, and meticulously restored. This process not only preserves the forests by reusing the recovered wood, but also revitalizes the buildings and saves them from disappearing.
Every house has unique architecture, colors, and local artisan touches that give it a distinct identity. Although the exteriors may seem plain, the interiors are refined and elegant.
In contrast to the traditional houses, the communal buildings feature contemporary and minimalist designs. There is a restaurant and bar at the entrance, a residents’ dining area and open-air lounge at the heart of the “village,” and a swimming pool shaded by frangipani trees, providing perfect spots for socializing and relaxation.
